Description:
Located on the campus of SUNY
Fredonia, the LEED "Silver" rated facility provides child care for campus
staff, students and residents of the Fredonia and Dunkirk communities.
In addition to child care, the
center is also used by SUNY Fredonia students as an educational tool to obtain
real life experiences in numerous fields such as Child Psychology and
Education.
The newly constructed center is a
single story, 16,000 square foot steel framed building which provides a healthy
and safe environment to encourage all aspects of children's growth and student
education.
Siracuse
Engineer's Role:
Complete
structural engineering design for the child care center including:

Design of the spread footing foundation system and slab on grade first floor.

Design of the steel framed super structure.

Design of the braced framed lateral resisting system for the structure.
